The Site Manager is the true cornerstone of the cleaning services, whose action, like that of this stone placed at the corner of two walls of a building, is crucial to the solidity of the structure as a whole. This is a perfect metaphor to illustrate how essential the role of a Site Manager (Gouvernant d’Entreprise in French) is at La Providence when it comes to providing cleaning services to a client.
Mostly operational, the mission of the Site Manager is to implement a cleaning service that meets the client's expectations, while remaining as close as possible to the teams, and following the management's directives.
Which responsibilities does the Site Manager have at a client's site?
He/she must organise and distribute tasks fairly among the teams, while strictly complying with the contract specifications.
As the on-site guarantor of his/her teams, the Site Manager is therefore responsible for the preparation, monitoring and delivery of the services, as well as for taking the necessary actions should a problem arise.
How is the performance of the Site Manager measured and assessed?
The Site Manager, who leads a team of about 10 to 30 people, works closely with the Account Manager, his/her supervisor, in charge of the reporting of the activity and the monitoring of the operational, economic, social, environmental and safety performance indicators (KPIs).
These performance indicators make it possible to measure the quality of the service provided on site and to set up future projects and corrective actions if needed.
The key to success
Cleaning is a profession that is all about the people behind it.
The key to success is how well teams are managed. Success can only be achieved if the teams are encouraged, stimulated and given the opportunity to grow professionally.
The Site Manager must be able to identify promising profiles and offer further training opportunities to develop their talents and skills.
