CSR strategy: a new direction for La Providence

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is now central to the business world. Presented as companies' social and environmental focus within their commercial activities, CSR, when properly implemented, helps reduce humanity's impact on climate change and gradually addresses social inequalities. For years, La Providence has adopted a CSR strategy guided by a Quality, Safety, and Environment (QSE) policy, which has recently evolved to focus on four key pillars: Environmental, Social, Economic, and Societal.

What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?

As mentioned earlier, CSR is when a company takes responsibility for its environmental and social impact resulting from its business activities. In other words, it involves minimizing pollution and human risks.

By practicing CSR, a company aims not only to have a positive impact on society but must also achieve this within a viable economic framework.

CSR Strategy Aligned with La Providence’s Values

Our CSR strategy is designed to reflect La Providence's values and the modern world. It focuses on:

  • Innovation, which allows us to continuously improve and stand out.
  • Proximity to our clients, ensuring we remain responsive in all circumstances.
  • Expertise, demonstrated by the know-how and experience of our employees.
  • Service mindset, through collaboration and mutual assistance, ensuring operational performance and better working conditions.
  • Loyalty, represented by our long-term clients and employees who grow alongside our services.

A company’s growth and sustainability have always depended on client satisfaction, the skills of its people, and sound economic performance.

Initially, our CSR strategy revolved around three core areas:

  1. Social: Providing a safe and fulfilling work environment, ensuring quality work and employee safety.
  2. Economic: Retaining clients while fostering sustainable and innovative economic growth.
  3. Environmental: Reducing the impact of our activities and carbon footprint on the environment.

A New Societal Pillar: What is it?

AAF La Providence CSR strategy

In 2022, following the COVID-19 pandemic, CSR challenges intensified. La Providence sought to further its commitment and enhance its CSR strategy to address societal issues and meet the growing demands of clients increasingly sensitive to service impact. This led us to introduce a new societal pillar.

With this new direction, La Providence becomes a citizen-oriented company contributing to the greater good. This pillar complements the initial three and helps improve recruitment by promoting young talent, diversity, and inclusion. Moreover, it highlights our ethical charter, a document formalizing the company’s values and business practices. It has also strengthened our philanthropic efforts, funding projects like La Providence Foundation.

As for what comes next, we’ll let 2023 write the rest of the story...
